Traidcraft is the trading arm of Transform Trade, a UK charity supporting producers across the world to fight for a fairer trade system. After a long history of pioneering in fair trade, Traidcraft exists to demonstrate the best that fair trade can be and to support producers around the world by raising money for Transform Trade.
A donation from the sale of each toilet roll will fund Transform Trade’s work helping producer collectives and social enterprises to thrive – and show the world that a better way of doing business is possible.
The average person in the UK produces between 10 and 11.7 tonnes of CO2 a year. Through tree planting and ever-diversifying carbon capturing programmes, each box of 36 toilet rolls will capture over 1.2 tonnes of CO2.
Over 1m trees have been planted to date. There is no silver bullet to climate change but planting as many trees as we possibly can right now is a great start. Serious Tissues has partnered with organisations running tree planting projects all around the world, including mangrove in Kenya and trees in Britain through the Tree Council.
Every roll sold supports Transform Trade’s work with inspirational producers like Mwanaidi from Tanzania, who are showing the world that a better way of doing business is possible - despite the devastating impact of climate change.
